In an attempt to get guns off South Carolina streets, local police gave away roses in exchange for firearms today (February 14).According to The Associated Press, South Carolina police set up their "Guns for Roses" program in two central South Carolina cities where anyone who turned in a gun would receive a free rose and a Best Buy gift card.
Police revealed that they collected 75 weapons in an hour and half from both women and men, young and old.
A handgun was worth a $100 gift card, while a rifle or shotgun netted a $50 gift certificate. One man turned in six handguns, worth $600 in gift cards.
